F.A.Q’s.

So….Pilates is like Yoga?

Well….. yes and no! Yoga is low-impact exercise, where you typically adopt a position and hold it, or flow in to a different position.

Pilates can be both low and high-impact, where you adopt a position and layer an exercise creating more challenge in that particular focus area. pilates is a great way to not only build strength but also balance and flexibility in a fun and challenging way.

I’ve never done Pilates before. Where should I start?

We love that you’re interested in Pilates! It is a great way to get EVERYbody moving. No matter your age, fitness level, flexibility, experience or gender.

We recommend starting with our Bloom classes and if you’d like to try reformer we run private classes just for yourself or semi-private classes for you and a friend!

However all our current classes are tailored for beginners, but we give you to power to tailor your movement the way you like while still encouraging you to challenge yourself!

Want to try our classes? we have an introductory mat Pilates offer: 5 classes for $50!

If you have any specific concerns and would like a little more information before joining, please contact us via our email (admin@bloompilateswhyalla.com.au) or via social media @bloompilateswhyalla.

Where are you located?

We have two locations.

All our mat Pilates classes run from 2D Williams Street, Whyalla Norrie.

Our reformer Pilates classes run from our boutique studio at 14 Barter Street, Whyalla Playford.

I’m pre-natal or post-partum. What classes should I attend?

All our classes are suitable for both pre-natal & post-partum individuals. They are all safe and effective workouts for your changing body.

We follow all the guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) to ensure your safety in every class. your instructor will make you aware of these before commencing classes.

Most individuals are able to return back when they feel ready, however please follow your doctors recommendations with returning to exercise after birth.

What should I bring?

I’m seeing a lot of classes are waitlisted. What does this mean and can I get into a class?

We’re a fast growing boutique studio. We don’t want anyone to miss out so we offer a waitlist option. Our waitlists do move so don’t be afraid to add yourself to the waitlists. You’ll never be moved into class from the waitlist closer than one hours before class starts. After that, if you’re still on the waitlist check in to see if anyone late cancels. A spot may open up for you!

If you place yourself on a waitlist, please be aware this indicates you will attend class if moved in.  If you are moved in from the waitlist and can no long attend, please cancel yourself out at least four hours before class starts, otherwise you will be charged for a late cancel.

If your class is early in the morning, make sure to wake up early to check if you got in, or remove yourself from the waitlist before going to bed just in case you get moved in after you’ve gone to sleep to avoid charges or pass forfeits.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our early cancel period is anytime up to 12 hours before class starts for reformer and mat classes. After that, it counts as a late cancel and you will be charged or forfeit your pass. Please try to early cancel so other people have the opportunity to make it to class. No one likes to miss out!

If you haven’t attended a class we will send you an email notification - if you are sent one but you were there and didn’t check in before class, please respond directly to the email so we can update your attendance.

Unlimited Classes members will be charged $15 for a no-show/late cancellation. These charges are processed two hours after the cancellation is logged.
